Manchester resident Rufus Howell has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon and one count of possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
On June 21 last year, Howell, 40 was arrested when a search of a car he was driving in Hartford found he was in possession of a Hi-Point 9mm pistol, 14 grams of combined heroin and fentanyl, 40 grams of cocaine, and marijuana.
John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, noted that Howell’s criminal history includes multiple state felony convictions and a federal felony narcotics conviction in 2005.
Howell has been detained since his arrest. He is due in court for sentencing on Nov. 18, when he will face up to 30 years in prison.
